We’re looking for a skilled Shopify Developer to join our team on a contract basis, to bring our front-end design concepts to life and build a high-performing, visually compelling Shopify store. This role will require expertise in Shopify theme development, Liquid coding, and customization to achieve the desired look and functionality of the site.

Beyond coding, the ideal candidate will also support product listings, ensuring seamless integration of products, collections, and merchandising to optimize the customer shopping experience. This position requires a blend of strong development skills, problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for design and usability.

THE DUTIES:

Shopify site development and customization: build, modify, and maintain Shopify themes to match design concepts, ensuring a seamless user experience across devices
Custom liquid coding: implement custom Liquid code to extend theme functionality and create unique page layouts as required
Collaborate with Front-End Designer: work closely with the design team to translate UI/UX wireframes into functional and interactive web elements
Product & Collection Setup: Assist in product and collection setup, ensuring all listings are optimized for SEO and customer engagement
App & API Integration: Implement third-party Shopify apps and API integrations as needed to enhance site functionality
Performance Optimization: Ensure fast load times and a smooth browsing experience by optimizing images, scripts, and site configurations
Bug Fixing & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to design, functionality, or performance to maintain a flawless shopping experience
Quality Assurance & Testing: Conduct thorough testing across devices and browsers before site launch

THE REQUIREMENTS:

Proven experience in Shopify development and customization, with a strong portfolio of past projects
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid for theme development and customization
Experience working with Shopify’s Dawn theme and other popular Shopify themes
Familiarity with Shopify theme architecture and structure
Strong understanding of eCommerce best practices, UX/UI design principles, and conversion optimization
Experience with SEO best practices for Shopify stores
Ability to integrate Shopify apps and APIs
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills
